Partners in the North
Wycliffe Bible Translators of Canada is one of the major partner organizations in the Wycliffe family. They are responsible for sending out a huge number of laborers to complete the task of Scripture translation. Wycliffe Associates has benefitted from the help and support of many Canadian volunteers. Their contribution to the construction of the Volunteer Mobilization Center in Orlando was invaluable. In any true partner relationship, however, there is give-and-take. Recently, Wycliffe Associates has had the opportunity to return the favor by helping Wycliffe Canada with one of their important projects.
Nova Scotia
On a 61-acre tract of land on the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia, about 60 miles north of Halifax, Wycliffe Bible Translators of Canada is building part of their future. You have probably never heard of Pugwash, but that is the location of the Wycliffe Atlantic Centre—now under construction. As a conference and retreat center, the Wycliffe Atlantic Centre is an important part of Wycliffe Canada’s recruitment, training, and publicity strategy in Atlantic Canada. Volunteers from Wycliffe Associates volunteers are helping with the construction, design, and financing of the Centre, as well as providing project management.
Like most Wycliffe Associates projects, volunteering at Pugwash is much more than an opportunity to install drywall, pour concrete, or cook meals. It is a chance to invest in the future of Bible translation around the world and to rub shoulders with those who are completely committed to serving the Lord by bringing His Word to people everywhere. If you want to make a difference in the world, why not consider becoming part of the Wycliffe Associates volunteer team that is working on projects like Pugwash?
