Vision 2025 Progress

Bookmark and Share

As we began the 21st century, there were about 3,000 languages worldwide needing Bible translation. With this goal in mind, dozens of partner organizations worldwide have rallied together to see Bible translation begin in all of these languages by the year 2025. The close of 2010 provides a convenient point to gauge our progress. Today research indicates that just under 2,100 languages are still without Scripture. By God’s grace, more Scripture translation has been started during these recent years than any other time in history!

You have shared in making this happen! Your prayers, your stewardship, your service, and your encouragement have helped make this acceleration possible. In this issue of eInvolved! you will see the results of the projects and strategies in which you have invested. God promises that His Word “will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11 NIV). We are blessed to see this proven day by day in our ministry.

This year, Wycliffe Associates international volunteer service increased over 70 percent! These are Christian professionals, just like you, using their skills and experience to support Bible translation teams worldwide. What a tremendous testimony to God’s preparation and provision in our lives as He enables us to share in speeding His Word to a world lost without it!

I hope this progress encourages you as it does me. It inspires me to continue stepping out in faith and trusting God to guide our steps. With almost 2,100 language communities still waiting, there is still a lot of work ahead! Thank you for your partnership in Bible translation!
