What is your picture of the typical Bible translator? No longer is it the solitary figure working tirelessly in a faraway jungle. You’ll find more and more husband-wife translator teams in the field, and many have children. The boys and girls benefit from their parents’ example of service and from exposure to unique cultures . . . but they also sacrifice many things our own children take for granted.
The special opportunities through KidZone International, the Wycliffe Associates kids’ ministry, let you touch the lives of girls and boys all over the world. You can volunteer short-term to teach a high-quality Vacation Bible School program to translators’ children during regional conferences. These conferences serve as vital times of learning, spiritual enrichment, fellowship, and planning for translation teams. Your involvement ensures their kids have an equally inspiring time!
You can also serve through our kids’ ministry as a volunteer teacher for a missionary school or missionary family. Many missionary families feel they must leave the field to provide their children with a good education. But with the help of volunteer teachers, translators can stay in the field, continue with the work God has called them to, and have peace of mind that their children are being educated well.
