Current Project Updates
Scriptures for New Frontiers
Today Bible translators need your help in a part of the world so dangerous
that we cannot publicly discuss where. Some of these areas are extremely
volatile, where translators, support teams, and Christians are risking their
lives to share God's Word with a world in need. When we think of what is
happening in some countries—Christians being tortured and murdered, believers
being persecuted and driven from their homes—we know that only God's Word can
change their world.
Before us is the challenge of nearly 1,000 languages without scripture—representing 280 million souls, people who have
never known the transforming power of God's Word. . . . All over the New Frontiers area, national translators are eager to get
going. There are enormous risks before them, and yet they are willing to take
any risks if that is what it will take to get the Scriptures to their own people
in their own languages. And, your partnership is needed to speed this vitally
important work forward.
A Work in Progress
At Wycliffe Associates, our role is to surround and support local translators and missionaries with administrative and technical support, financial support, and most importantly, to bring encouragement. We have multiple projects under way in this vast, sprawling region .
. . bundled together we call them Scriptures for New Frontiers. Through this project,

to provide training for national
translators; |

to help expand housing for translators, their
families, and the teams they rely on; |

to provide schoolteachers who can share God's Word from inside local
cultures; |
| • |
to help fund the pilot of Scripture translation digital publishing for
minority languages; |
| • |
to support language surveys; |
| • |
to stimulate research and documentation of minority languages; |
| • |
to maintain a small, but crucial, emergency budget for missionaries
targeted by anti-Christian groups—a
very real threat. |
And the list goes on. . . .
These are critical needs for you to consider supporting—financially and prayerfully.
National men and women are passionate about bringing the truth and hope of God’s Word to their own communities—doing whatever it takes—no matter the cost. We urge you to join them through your prayers and gifts. Wycliffe Associates needs to raise $255,039 this year to reach these New Frontiers.
