Where You Can Serve
Latin America refers to the entire area of Mexico, Central America and South America. Although a convenient label, it is not accurate—it includes hundreds of people groups, languages and cultures that are not Latin and do not speak Spanish. In fact, William Cameron Townsend, the founder of Wycliffe Bible Translators, began his translation work in Latin America precisely because so many people there were unable to understand God’s Word in Spanish. Today, that need still exists and Wycliffe Associates is deeply involved in accelerating the process of bringing the Scriptures to the remaining people who need a translation. You don't need to be a translator to play a vital role in Bible translation. In fact, right now we need volunteers of all backgrounds as we work in Latin America to begin translation projects for the remaining 81 languages by 2025.
