Accelerating Bible Translation in Africa
Bible translation is alive and well in Africa, where Wycliffe Associates has been accelerating the work of Bible translation for decades. Follow the links below to find out how God’s Word is making its way to more and more language groups in this part of the world and to discover how you can get involved.
Where You Can Serve
The continent of Africa defies simple description. It includes endless stretches of hot, arid deserts and also tropical rain forests and some of the largest rivers in the world. There are thousands of miles of beautiful coastline, but also snow-capped mountains. Some of the most exotic and rare plants and animals of the world are found in Africa. Likewise, some of the most intriguing and unique cultures and people groups—many without a single verse of Scripture in their mother tongue—live in Africa. Consider whether God might use you to accelerate Bible translation in one of the countries below.

Volunteer Opportunities
There’s so much more to Bible translation than translating. It requires a mix of people with varying backgrounds. Currently in Africa, where translation work is underway for 458 languages, we have a critical need for a wide array of skills and talents to support these efforts and to begin translation work on 805 additional languages. Click here for a look at volunteer opportunities available to you!
Team Trip Opportunities
If you’ve ever considered a short-term mission trip, a Wycliffe Associates trip might be the perfect ministry opportunity for you. Whether you’re conducting Vacation Bible School for the children of Bible translators or helping construct a new translation facility, you will be playing a vital part in the work of Bible translation. Click here for information about upcoming Africa team trips.
Current Project Updates
Your kind support today—whether through prayer, a financial gift, or volunteerism—will help support these vital projects and accelerate Bible translation for language groups who have yet to read God’s Word in their mother tongue.
