From a new airstrip to a new national training center, exciting developments are in the works in this part of the world. And with 265 Bible translations in progress and another 414 yet to begin, the timing couldn’t be better. Follow the links below to get the scoop on these projects—and to learn how you might get involved in accelerating Bible translation in the Pacific.

Where You Can Serve
The Pacific is a vast, arbitrarily defined expanse of the world where the Pacific Ocean, rather than land borders, connects the nations. It is home to glistening white beaches, coconut palms swaying in the breeze, beautiful coral reefs, and rugged volcanic islands rising out of the blue ocean. Its diverse nations have some of the worlds most international cities and some of its most remote villages. If you want to maximize the effect of your service for the Lord through volunteer work abroad, consider going to one of the countries listed below!

Airstrip Repair Project
Airstrips are critical to the work of Bible translation in Papua New Guinea, because they make it possible for translators, volunteers, and supplies to be flown in and out of the villages. However, many once-reliable airstrips have been damaged or destroyed and are no longer safe. Click here to find out what’s being done about it.
Malaria Prevention
Malaria is prevalent in the most remote areas of the world, exactly where the Scriptures are still needed. Click here to see how you can help stop malaria in its tracks.
New Ireland Translation Institute
On a tiny exotic island just off the coast of Papua New Guinea, Bible translators Ed and Debi Condra, along with their Bible translation team, completed the New Testament for the Patpatar people. But there is more. Click here to see how the Patpatar people are making a difference in their community.
Papua New Guinea KODIAK Aircraft
Papua New Guinea (PNG)is a land of jungles, high mountains, and many small islands. About 80 percent of Bible translators in PNG must travel to and from their remote village translation locations by airplane. Click here to find out how you can help provide the perfect airplane —the KODIAK—to meet these Bible translators’ travel needs.
PNG Air Services Project
There are so many Bible translation projects in PNG that it takes a lot of infrastructure and support services to keep them going. About 1,000 adult volunteers, translators, support personnel, and children live in PNG at any given moment. Click here to see how you can help improve their air services—the "safety net" for these families.
PNG National Staff Housing Project
Christian nationals in Papua New Guinea who serve as employees at the Ukarumpa Bible Translation Center are vital to the work there. But much of the housing for these dedicated servants is becoming unsafe to live in. Click here to discover how you can help meet this critical need.
PNG National Training Center
The new Wycliffe Associates Volunteer Center at Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea (PNG) has been completed and has paved the way for the new PNG National Training Center, which will be the key to 300-plus language groups in PNG having God’s Word in a language they can understand. Click here for more about this enormous undertaking.
PNG Water Supply Project
Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea, a large translation center with many homes, offices, and translation training facilities suddenly lost their main water supply. The water system had been sabotaged. Click here to see how you can help prevent this from ever happening again.
Solomon Islands Training Center
It is now clear that God began setting the stage all the way back to World War II for the people of the Solomon Islands to receive His Word. Click here to see what you can help make possible in these South Pacific islands.
