11/8/2011: Accountants Needed!

Bookmark and Share

As I sit down to write this message, I'm trying to imagine what it would be like if Wycliffe Associates had no accountants. This actually has nothing to do with the fact that we are starting our annual audit today—really!

Our accounting team does a tremendous job supporting our stewardship of financial resources. The annual audit is just part of our routine accountability and transparency. It's really quite impossible to imagine managing our global projects and personnel without accounting.

If we didn't have experienced accounting professionals, we'd have to find someone to cover the responsibility—because without accounting we'd just be guessing. And Bible translation is too vital to be reduced to guessing.

I'm on this train of thought today because we are currently looking for accountants to fill key critical roles in three different locations: Brazil, Kenya, and Southeast Asia.

In each of these situations, the accounting responsibilities are being covered by translators or administrators with other responsibilities. Having dedicated accounting professionals in these assignments would strengthen these teams tremendously, and help to advance Bible translation.

In addition to accountants, we have two critical needs for business managers: East Asia and South Africa. Bible translation teams in these locations are in need of someone with experience to manage the business processes and support team.

As in the situations I described above, these responsibilities are currently being covered by translators or will soon be uncovered as key staff transition to other areas.

If you or someone you know, has project management and would like more details on these service opportunities, just reply to web@wycliffeassociates.org or call Erika Klingenberger toll-free at 1-800-THE WORD (800-843-9673). Erika would love to talk with you and give you more details about these opportunities.

Pray with us that God will link us with the people He has prepared to serve in these key assignments.
