7/24/2012: Bible Translation Team Building in Kathmandu

Bookmark and Share

Nepal is known internationally for the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayan mountain range. But with more than 60 Nepali languages still without Scripture, Nepal is also in the top ten highest priority nations of the world for Bible translation.

Fortunately, dedicated Nepali Christians are working hard to speed God’s Word to every language community in their country. And Wycliffe Associates has been asked to recruit someone who can help these translation teams become even more effective.

The local director of our Nepali translation partner is looking for a project development manager to work closely with him and coach his leadership team to further develop and strengthen the Nepali translation teams and improve project results.

This will include working directly with language teams to schedule, monitor, and evaluate their progress on goals. Additional duties will include designing and writing monthly newsletters and quarterly reports for English speaking donors and partners.

The ideal candidate for this role would be someone with program management experience in an international location. It will be important to invest time in learning the Nepali language and culture in order to effectively connect with the local staff.

If you, or someone you know, would like to learn more about this opportunity to advance Bible translation in Nepal, just reply to web@wycliffeassociates.org or call Jennifer Cunneen toll-free at 1-800 THE WORD (800-843-9673). Jennifer will be glad to provide more details about living and working in Kathmandu.

Our goal is for this person to begin serving in Nepal by January 2013. Pray with us that God will lead us to the person with the right combination of ability and availability to meet this need.
