Who We Are: Organized in 1967 by friends of
Bible translators,
Wycliffe Associates is a ministry supporting the work of Bible
translation around the world.
Our Ministry: Wycliffe Associates recruits and mobilizes lay people to offer their time, talents, and treasure to accelerate the work of Bible translation through volunteer programs in local communities and overseas. Thousands of Wycliffe Associates volunteers do their part to keep Bible translation moving forward by building and renovating facilities, teaching in Vacation Bible Schools, praying daily, constructing roads and airstrips, doing office work, using computer skills, telling others how they can help, and overseeing various projects. The hours they give directly ease the burden of Bible translators, enabling them to focus their full energies on translating God's Word.

- Contribute funds and volunteer services to our Bible translation partners
- Contribute over 560,000 volunteer hours of work per year to help Bible translation efforts
- Built hundreds of facilities for Bible translation around the world
- Mobilized 4,347 volunteers in 2009 to advance the
cause of Bible translation throughout the world
- Accelerated the work of Bible translation in 54
countries

- Languages currently spoken in the world: 6,848
- Languages that need a Bible translation project started: 2,393
- Languages that have Scripture: 2,479; of these, 451 have an adequate Bible, 1,185 have an adequate New Testament, and 843 have at least one book of the Bible
- Total number of languages in which Bible translation
is in progress: 1,990
Our Members: Wycliffe Associates has thousands of members and friends nationwide who support Wycliffe Associates financially or through hands-on volunteer involvement.
