Global: In very broad strokes, here are seven aspects of the enormous process of producing a translation of the Bible. These aspects vary greatly in terms of training and time expended to reach the goal of seeing a person using their Bible and being transformed by the Holy Spirit through its content: 1) someone needs to know the source language and the target language; 2) translators need to make a long term commitment; 3) prayer and community backing greatly foster a translation being used; 4) community testing; 5) consultant checks; 6) reproduction in suitable media; 7) distribution. May this understanding help to increase our stamina as we pray for Bible translation ministry.
