Short Description:
Seeking an experienced bookkeeper or accountant to handle the accounting needs for the Central Africa Group. The ideal person will be committed to working long-term and will be able to communicate in French, to the level of being able to explain accounting procedures to French-speaking nationals. Because this task is presently performed by someone outside of Africa, our reports are several months behind. It would increase our group's efficiency if we had someone in Africa handling these responsibilities.
Detail:
Designs and maintains accounting systems components including the chart of accounts, internal controls, transaction recording procedures, consolidations, and reporting (both internal and external). Reconciles accounts. Makes all accruals and adjustments. Prepares appropriate schedules and work papers. Produces appropriate trial balance and financial statements. Prepares tax returns according to prescribed laws and regulations. Provides advice and counsel to entity management on accounting issues. May conduct audits of an entity's accounting operations, in each of the locations: Brazzaville, Congo, Bangui, Central African Republic and Gemena, Western Democratic Republic of Congo. May design, implement and use computerized accounting systems. May supervise staff to accomplish assigned activities.
