After a short-term mission trip to Papua New Guinea (PNG), David Hooper discovered an exciting way to help accelerate worldwide Bible translation: simply share his professional knowledge with others.
After many years of working in business, David developed a curriculum that is being used in Papua New Guinea to train nationals in accounting and business management. When the students complete the training, they will be able to fill senior jobs at regional Bible translation centers so that translators can focus primarily on translating God’s Word. David, along with other business-minded, experienced volunteers, has used the new curriculum to train the local people at a number of seminars in PNG.
“The response has been overwhelming,” says David. “With improved skills, nationals can become permanent workers. And, they will never lose the skills they learn. The training benefits everyone! “I am eager to help these people who are so eager to improve themselves, while at the same time helping Bible translators.” Perhaps you, like David, have expertise and skills to share—we’d love to help you find a place to share them.
